This is an incredible set of MS67 San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollars. It includes 4 consecutive dates from 1879 through 1882. It is quite remarkable that these Morgan Silver Dollars, which are over 140 years old, had no special handling or protection, but survived in such a lofty state of preservation.   Morgan Silver Dollars are the most collected American silver coins and San Francisco examples are typically some of the most well-struck and highly reflective coins in the series.   This grouping is highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the extremely high quality of these coins and the beauty of the design. Morgan Silver Dollars were named after their designer, George T. Morgan, an engraver at the US Mint.   Morgan’s design is classic in its simplicity. The obverse depicts an allegorical representation of Miss Liberty. Her American heritage is depicted in the cotton and wheat attached to her headdress.   The reverse followed US Mint protocol and depicted an American Bald Eagle, with both an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other. Those elements symbolically represent peace and war. The meaning was that the United States would be ready to follow either course of action.   These coins are extremely limited in quantity but are worthy of the finest collections. This is a great set to use to build or improve a collection of some of the finest grade Morgan Dollars.
