2024 1 oz Gold Britannia BU
The 2024 Gold Britannia One Troy Ounce gold coin is beautifully designed. This .9999 Fine Gold coin combines the magnificent style of old British gold coins with 21st-century anti-counterfeiting technology.
The obverse design bears a portrait of the new monarch, King Charles III, facing left. His mother, Queen Elizabeth II was facing to the right so it is with tradition that his portrait would be the opposite. Around the portrait is the Latin inscription “CHARLES III – D – G – REX – F – D – 100 POUNDS.” The inscription translates to “CHARLES III, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KING, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH.”
The obverse has a proprietary “Guilloche” obverse. A Guilloche is a complex pattern usually in a circular or spiral shape, composed of continuous intertwined lines that overlap each other, which were engraved through a mechanical process. Its purpose is to increase the security of the coin against counterfeiting. The Gold Brittania also incorporates additional security features such as surface animation and tincture lines.
The reverse displays the allegorical figure of Britannia, standing tall against a strong gale. Her likeness symbolizes the strength, courage, and fidelity of the British people.
The Gold Britannia was first struck in 1987 and has been struck annually since then. There are also silver Britannia coins as well as a Platinum Britannia coin. There are both Brilliant Uncirculated and limited mintage-proof coins. This listing offers 2024-dated, beautiful One Troy Ounce gold coins.
