History
The American Gold Eagle bullion coin program was begun in 1986. It was an immediate success as both American citizens and people around the world wanted an American gold bullion coin. The US Mint struck a 1 Ounce, ½ Ounce, ¼ Ounce and a 1/110th Oz coin.
Design
The 2024 American Gold Eagle bullion coins utilize the same design, regardless of the size. The obverse depicts a faithful rendition of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ $20 Gold Double Eagle coin. It depicts Miss Liberty, facing the viewer, with a torch in one hand, and an olive branch in the other. The rays of the sun behind Miss Liberty are rising upwards and Washington DC is behind her.
The reverse displays a closeup of the head of an American Bald Eagle, as designed by Jennie Norris, when the design was changed for all sizes of American Gold Eagle bullion coins during mid-2021.
All American Gold Eagle bullion coins are comprised of 22 carat (.9167 Fine Gold) and contain the proper amount of pure gold for their size and denomination.
This coin is a 2024 $10,00 American Gold Eagle bullion coin, containing ¼ Ounce of pure gold, It was graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) which is one of the most important and most reliable independent, third-party grading services.
It was graded as Mint State 70 which means it is in PERFECT condition. It has also been designated as an Early Release (ER) which means it was received for grading within 30 days of the program’s release by the US Mint.
