History
When South Africa created the first bullion gold coin, the Krugerrand, the United States Mint watched how successful it was. It was followed by Canada and China as well, Both of those bullion coin programs were also very successful.
So, in 1986, the American Congress had voted for the legislation to create similar American coins and President Reagan signed the legislation into law.
Thus, the American Gold Eagle bullion coin program had begun. The coins were issued in One Troy Ounce ($50 Face Value), One-Half Troy Ounce ($25), One-Quarter Troy Ounce ($10), and One-Tenth Troy Ounce ($5), sizes and values. This would allow investors of all budgets to participate in this program.
Design
The US Mint wisely decided that all of the coins all should have the exact same design. The obverse was a modern rendition of the Augustus Saint-Gaudens $20 Gold Double Eagle design, issued fir coinage between 1907 and 1933. This design is often called the most beautiful coin that America ever created.
The reverse depicted Miley Busiek’s “Family of Eagles” design  which was two parent eagles and an eaglet from inception of the program in 1986 until partway through 2021. But later in 2021, the reverse design was changed.
The new design was created by Jennie Norris and displays a closeup view of the head of an American Bald Eagle.
The coins in this listing may be dated between 1986 and the current year. They are all $5 Face Value American Gold Eagle 1/10th Troy Ounce coins. Their purity and integrity are guaranteed by the United States.
The coins are struck in 22 carat gold (.9167 Fine Gold), but each coin is guaranteed to contain One Tenth of a Troy Ounce of pure gold.
