The obverse of this impressive coin bears the official crowned portrait of King Charles III, facing to the left. Around his portrait is the Latin inscription, “CHARLES III – DEI – GRA – REX – FID – DEF,” which translates to “CHARLES III, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KIND, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH.”
The reverse utilizes the same Benedetto Pistrucci engraving of ‘Saint George Slaying the Dragon.’ This same depiction has been used on all British Sovereigns since 1817.
This special Coronation Dat Sovereign was struck in 22 carat gold (.9167 Fine) and is accompanied by a booklet about the coronation and a Certificate of Authenticity.
