This is an amazing offering of an incredible set. It is a complete set of American Platinum Eagle bullion coins from 1997 through 2023. Between 1997 and 2008, the United States Mint struck $10 face value One-Tenth Ounce Platinum coins, $25 One-Quarter Ounce coins, $50 One-Half Ounce coins, and $100 One Troy Ounce platinum coins.
Assembling a 65-coin set like this, in any grade, is quite a challenge. Of the 65 coins, only three coins have original proof mintages over 20,000 coins. Of the remaining coins, 19 coins had mintages of over 10,000 coins, and 43 coins have original mintages of under 10,000 struck. Amassing a complete set of one proof coin of each date and denomination is no easy task.
Now imagine locating every one of these 65 different coins in PERFECT Proof-70 grade! Every single coin has been certified and graded by NGC, one of the most important, independent, third-party coin grading services in the world. Each coin is remarkable in condition!
This set also includes the highly-desirable 2-piece 2007 10th Anniversary Set. The set includes two (2) one-half ounce $50 Platinum Eagle bullion coins. Each label was autographed by Rhett Jepson, the former Principal Deputy Director of the United States Mint. He directed the Mint between 2015 and 2017. Under his direction, the Mint struck such important issues as the 2015 American Liberty High Relief $100 Gold Coins and the 2016 Centennial Gold set which offered modern-day versions of a Mercury Dime, a Standing Liberty Quarter, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar - all struck in gold.
