It was very difficult to find the Morgan O I was looking for. I had to close the browser and do a google search again for Blanchard to pop up. As I have not purchased for Blanchard before, I'll hold my opinion until after I have received my order.

The 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as one of the most iconic coins in American numismatic history, embodying the artistry, history, and economic ambition of the late 19th century. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this example has been certified by CAC Grading as MS62, assuring collectors of both its authenticity and quality. The CACG designation means this coin has met rigorous grading standards and represents a strong example for its assigned grade.
Designed by George T. Morgan, the Morgan Dollar is celebrated for its detailed and patriotic design. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton, symbols of agricultural prosperity and unity between the North and South. Around her profile are the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and thirteen stars, representing the original colonies, along with the date of mintage at the bottom.
The reverse depicts a bald eagle with wings spread wide, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. This imagery signifies America’s strength and readiness to defend its principles while also striving for peace. The legend “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR” encircle the design, along with the statement of its silver content, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The bold relief and deep artistry of the Morgan Dollar have made it one of the most admired coins ever produced by the United States Mint.
In 1884, the Morgan Dollar played a significant role in America’s economy, especially following the silver surplus brought on by the Comstock Lode discoveries in Nevada. Massive silver deposits led to large-scale coinage under the Bland-Allison Act, which mandated the U.S. Mint to purchase and strike millions of silver dollars each year. Many of these coins sat in Treasury vaults for decades before being released to the public in the mid-20th century.
This CACG MS62 example offers pleasing luster and attractive surfaces for the grade. While it may show some minor contact marks consistent with its Mint State 62 designation, the overall presentation is eye-catching, with sharp detail in Liberty’s hair and the eagle’s feathers. The grading by CACG adds a layer of assurance, as this service is known for its exacting standards and focus on market-acceptable quality.
The 1884 Morgan Dollar holds special appeal for collectors who appreciate the blend of affordability and historical charm. In MS62, it is a strong choice for those looking to add a high-quality, problem-free Mint State example without reaching the higher price tiers of MS65 and above. It also serves as an excellent representative piece for a complete Morgan Dollar date set, a type set of U.S. silver dollars, or as a stand-alone investment in precious metals with numismatic upside.
Containing .77344 troy ounces of 90 percent silver, the coin carries intrinsic value alongside its collectible worth. As both a tangible piece of American history and a precious metal asset, it offers dual appeal to investors and collectors alike. Whether displayed as part of a collection or stored for long-term preservation, this 1884 Morgan Silver Dollar remains a testament to the craftsmanship and enduring legacy of 19th-century U.S. coinage.
