The obverse depicted an allegorical rendition of Miss Liberty, walking to the left. In a gesture of friendship, her right hand is extended outward, while her left arm cradles a bundle of olive branches. Above Miss Liberty is the word “LIBERTY,” the motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” is in the right field and below Miss Liberty is the date the coin was struck.The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle, shield covering its body, with arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. Above the eagle is “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” and on the lower periphery is “1 Oz. FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR.”This coin is a 1987 American Silver Eagle which has been graded as MS69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). NGC is one of the major, third-party, independent grading services and is respected worldwide. The grade of “MS69” means that the coin is one tiny point away from perfection. It is in very high grade.From 1986, the initial year, until 1998, bullion American Silver Eagle coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint, but they do not bear an “S” mintmark.
