History

The Mexican Gold 10 Peso was introduced in 1905 and struck during a period of significant economic and political change in Mexico. Although Hidalgo did not live to see independence achieved, his leadership during the opening stages of the movement earned him an enduring place in Mexican history as the Father of Mexican Independence.
