I don't recommend.

I made the order via check and didn't hear from anyone until I called over a month later to find out when the order would ship. I was told it wasn't placed but it would be that day. It amazes me that I could make an order, send a check that would be cleared, and not hear from a representative. That is very poor customer service.

Introduction
The 1873 $20 Liberty Open 3 Double Eagle represents a prized variety within the historic Liberty Head gold series. Graded PCGS MS63 with CAC approval and a plus designation, this example reflects superior quality within its grade, offering strong eye appeal, vibrant luster, and well-preserved surfaces. The Open 3 variety adds a layer of numismatic interest, making this coin especially attractive to collectors of classic American gold.
History
The Liberty Head Double Eagle was introduced in 1850 during the height of the California Gold Rush, when newly discovered gold dramatically expanded the nation’s coinage. By the early 1870s, the $20 Double Eagle had become a vital component of both domestic commerce and international trade. In 1873, the United States Mint modified the style of the numeral “3” in the date, producing both Closed 3 and Open 3 varieties. Collectors today recognize the Open 3 variety for its distinct appearance and connection to this transitional moment in U.S. coinage history.
Design
The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with LIBERTY. Thirteen stars encircle the portrait, representing the original states, while the date appears below. Designed by Chief Engraver James B. Longacre, the design reflects the classical artistic influence that defined much of 19th century American coinage.
The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield across its chest, holding an olive branch and arrows symbolizing peace and strength. Above the eagle appears a semicircle of thirteen stars, while UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds the design and the denomination TWENTY D is displayed below. The large format of the Double Eagle allows the design to present impressive detail and commanding visual presence.
