1994 1 oz American Silver Eagle NGC MS69

American Silver Eagle bullion coins are the most collected silver bullion coins in the world. First issued in 1986 with the passage of the Liberty Coin Act in 1985, coins were struck in both gold and silver in One Troy Ounce and fractional increments. These coins were struck to capture some of the success that South Africa, Canada, and other countries had with their bullion investment coins. 

The American Silver Eagles utilized the Walking Liberty design on the obverse of the coin. This design depicted Miss Liberty, in flowing robes, walking towards the viewer as the sun rose behind her. The word “LIBERTY,” is above Miss Liberty, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” is to the right and the current date is on the bottom periphery. In her left arm are olive branches and her right hand is outstretched. This design was originally created by Adolph Weinman and first used on the Walking Liberty half dollars struck between 1916 and 1947.  

The reverse design was created by the then-Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, John Mercanti. He created a heraldic eagle design of an American Bald Eagle, shield on her chest, 13 five-pointed stars above the eagle, with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” on the upper periphery, and “1 OZ FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR,” on the lower periphery.  

This coin is a 1994 American Silver Eagle bullion coin that has been graded as MS69, by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). NGC is one of the major, independent, third-party grading services.
