Introduction

The 2025 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle offers all the prestige of the U.S. Mint’s flagship gold series in a compact, affordable format. Struck in 22-karat gold (.9167 fine) and backed by the U.S. government for weight and purity, this fractional Gold Eagle contains 1/10 troy ounce of pure gold. Perfect for new collectors or those seeking flexibility in their bullion holdings, the 1/10 oz coin delivers the same artistry, trust, and intrinsic value that define the American Eagle program.

History

Since its launch in 1986 under the Gold Bullion Coin Act, the American Eagle has become a global standard of excellence in modern gold coinage. The program revived Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ legendary Liberty design, first featured on the $20 Double Eagle (1907–1933), uniting classic artistry with modern minting precision. In 2021, the Mint introduced the Type 2 reverse—a bold new design by Jennie Norris depicting a close-up portrait of the bald eagle. The 2025 fractional release continues this legacy, embodying American craftsmanship, reliability, and enduring symbolism in every detail.

Design

The obverse of the 2025 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle showcases Lady Liberty advancing confidently with torch and olive branch, framed by rays of the rising sun and the U.S. Capitol in the background—a timeless symbol of freedom and progress. The reverse features Jennie Norris’ intricate rendering of the American bald eagle, its gaze conveying strength and vigilance. Each coin weighs 3.393 grams, measures 16.5 mm in diameter, and is composed of gold alloyed with small amounts of silver and copper for durability. Compact yet powerful, the 2025 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle embodies the elegance, trust, and heritage of U.S. Mint craftsmanship.
