History
The Draped Bust Half Eagle series was minted from 1795 to 1807, representing the earliest era of gold coin production in the United States. Each die was hand-engraved, creating numerous distinctive varieties—including the Knobbed 6 7x6 Star configuration seen on this 1806 issue. Surviving Mint State coins are scarce due to heavy circulation, melting, and modest early mintages.

Design
