I had to use four different credit cards before one was accepted. They all have a very large balance of available credit. Maybe it’s the credit card company’s fault anyway I finally got it done

Introduction
The 1911-D $2.50 Indian Head Quarter Eagle graded PCGS AU53 CAC is a lightly circulated example of the key date in the Indian Head Quarter Eagle series. Struck at the Denver Mint in 90% gold, the 1911-D had a mintage of just 55,680 coins, substantially lower than any other issue in the series. Its AU53 grade retains considerable original design detail, while CAC approval recognizes its quality and eye appeal within the assigned grade.
History
The Indian Head Quarter Eagle was introduced in 1908 and designed by sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt. Created during a period of major artistic changes to American coinage, the series departed from traditional raised-relief designs by placing its principal design elements below the surface of the coin.
The Denver Mint produced only 55,680 Indian Head Quarter Eagles in 1911, giving the 1911-D the lowest mintage of the series by a wide margin. The next-lowest mintage belongs to the 1914 issue, making the 1911-D a key date for collectors assembling a complete Indian Head Quarter Eagle set.
The D mintmark is an important identifying feature of the 1911-D and can vary considerably in strength. Some examples display an exceptionally weak mintmark, a characteristic recognized by PCGS as the Weak D variety. Because the 1911-D has been a frequent target of counterfeiters and altered coins with added mintmarks, third-party certification provides important authentication for collectors.
Design
The obverse features a Native American portrait wearing a feathered headdress, surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original states. The inscription LIBERTY appears above, with the date 1911 below. Unlike most U.S. coins of the period, the principal design elements are recessed below the surrounding field.
The reverse depicts a standing eagle perched on a bundle of arrows with an olive branch alongside. The inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2 1/2 DOLLARS complete the design. The D mintmark identifies the Denver Mint.
