The 1932 $10 Indian Gold Eagle is a treasured final-year issue from one of the most admired series in U.S. numismatics. Designed by renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the Indian Head Eagle brought a new level of artistry to American coinage. This 1932 example, certified by NGC as Mint State 63 and approved by CAC, offers investors and collectors a powerful combination of quality, history, and enduring visual appeal.
This was the last $10 gold piece struck for circulation before the U.S. government halted gold coin production in 1933. The economic uncertainty of the Great Depression and subsequent Executive Order restricting gold ownership forever changed the role of gold in the financial system. The 1932 issue thus represents the final chapter in regular production of the Indian Eagle series and stands as a key milestone in American monetary history.
The coin features Lady Liberty wearing a Native American feathered headdress on the obverse, surrounded by 13 stars and the word “LIBERTY” above. The reverse displays a stately bald eagle standing on a branch, framed by inscriptions such as “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Struck in .900 fine gold with nearly a half-ounce of actual gold weight, this coin blends precious metal content with fine design.
Graded MS63 by NGC and approved by CAC, this piece demonstrates strong luster, sharp detail, and above-average eye appeal for the grade. The CAC seal confirms that it is among the most attractive examples within its class, making it especially desirable for collectors seeking quality and market confidence.
